More about the welding method: Cold metal transfer (CMT) welding is performed using an inverter current source. Although this welding system is equipped with the most advanced technical equipment used by MIG/MAG systems, it is also made with certain specific requirements in mind.
The extremely dynamic wire feeding mechanism mounted on the welding torch is worth mentioning. After a short increase in current, the welding current drops and the welding wire engages. Only one drop separates and no welding spatter is produced. The welding wire is then pulled out again and the cycle is repeated. High frequency and extreme precision are the main requirements for proper welding control. The wire feeder on the welding torch is designed for speed control, not high pull power. Therefore, the wire is fed with the help of a more powerful but slower feed mechanism. A special tip on the feeder hose is used to change the modulated high-frequency wire feed movements to linear ones.
